December.

If you placed December in Week term, December would be the "weekend". Its just the THAT time of the year!

Probably also my most favorite month of the year. Its like the clearing off of the year in anticipation for the new year :)

On a side note, I've never had a birthday that was not awkward. Born in the middle of December, that is when everyone is on Holidays and getting ready for Christmas, it doesn't even feel right celebrating a birthday ;s..in a way. Anyways!

I remember how usually holidays, i would holiday. But over this 2 years being a teacher i have learnt to use holidays wisely. Perhaps because teaching was rather a relaxing job for me, and during the accumulative 3 months holiday, i question myself, 'what do i do?'.. Its always good to have a plan.

I've learnt that time was not for wasting (neither are holidays) . I could do so much! Why should i waste it watching TV, or scrolling my news feed on Facebook, stalking people etc. If i spend everyday making cookies i bet i'll be a cookie Master in no time. So if i watch Tv everyday i'll most probably be be a Highly Qualified time waster.

But the thing is, if you are working in a very crazy work environment that is extremely demanding and have much of OT's then by all means spend your holidays as you wish! But preferably doing something you love! what you've always wanted to do if you had the time. Catching up with awesome people, Or by relaxing and recuperating before getting back refreshed!

I remember half way through fashion school i when into anti-fashion mode. my final year project if i came to look back at it now, was pretty much in the lines of making that statement. perhaps that is how i am going to do fashion, by not being.

Perhaps i found the industry extremely Ostentatious. So superficial and fake.( maybe i should not look at it this way, there is nothing wrong with having beautiful designs at a beautiful show with beautiful tall and skinny people ). Well, it is also an industry where there are no moral or values that governs it. Its totally up to you.

I guess there are a couple of worlds in fashion co-existing, the Ostentatious ones ( all about the who's wearing what, the name, the status, the money, the luxury, the show ), the Subculture ones (goths, rockers, mods, beatniks ), the pirated ones  ( cheap copies of the above ) and the ones who loves beauty in simplicity, designing and making, which imparts into garments ( what i am for ). I guess in this world this is just how design goes in every area. Different, and to each its own.

Lets leave this talk for another post!

Have a happy December :)
